Nail Reconstruction

Nail Reconstruction
Instead of hiding your unsightly toe nails, Wilde-Pedique toenail reconstruction gives you the confidence to show off your feet, whether it is bare foot around the house, wearing sandals on holiday or for a special occasion.

Wilde-Pedique can improve the over all appearance of your nail by rebuilding a partially lost nail, hiding discolouration, deformities and ridges.
You will benefit from this procedure if you have

Mycotic (fungal) nails. Though Wilde-Pedique is not a cure for mycosis (fungal nails) it does provide a cosmetic solution for the unsightly appearances associated with the infection while it is being treated either topically or orally.

Onychauxis (Thinkened) nails. After the thickened nail has been reduced it size Wilde-Pedique can be applied to the nail to improve the appearance and seal the nail to provide protection against nail funguses.

Nails damaged by trauma. Wilde-Pedique can approve the appearance of a nail which has been damaged by trauma and protect a new nail which has regrown after trauma has caused a temporary loss of a nail.

Split or cracked nails. An overlay of Wilde-Pedigue can prevent further damage to the nail and prevent snagging.

Sensitive nails. Nails that are sensitive due to chronic conditions or after nail surgery can be protected by a layer of Wilde-Pedique.

Wilde-Pdique is safe to use on diabetics.
Nail reconstruction is suitable for both men and women as the Wilde-Pedique gels come in a variety of colours to produce a natural looking nail. The final finish can be matt, glossy or a French polish. For a cosmetic looking finish all the nails can be overlayed with Wilde-Pedique.

The reconstructed nail looks, feels and acts like an actual nail, with its flexibility it can adapt to the movement of your toes without affecting the natural nail or bed. It grows out with the natural nail underneath and can be cut and filed. Nail polish can be applied and removed with out affecting the reconstructed nail.
The Wilde-Pedique silver plus gels are different from those used for Acrylic nails. They are light cured Acrylester resins, which are high grade flexible plastics that act like a natural nail adapting to your toes movements unlike acrylic nails. Wilde-Pedique gels contain Micro silver which has healing properties and Piroctone Olamine, an anti fungal-agent.
In order for the construction of the new nail there must be a partial existing nail for the Wilde-Pedique nail to bond to. If there is an empty nail bed a Wilde-Pedique nail can be created but is only expected to last for a few days. However this can be reattached with appropriate nail glue.

Unlike beauticians, Foot health professionals use disposable and sterile equipment to prevent cross infection.
During your appointment.
Appointment times will vary depending on individual treatments but allow a minimum of an hour.

An initial assessment will be carried out including details of medical history.

The nail will be prepared by removing excess loose, flaky, thickened nail or skin, dirt and oil. The nail is then disinfected and cleansed.

The new nail is then moulded using the Wilde-Pedique gels to create a natural looking nail to the required length and shape. The gels are then cured and hardened under UV light.

After the treatment you can put on socks and shoes as normal as the nail is fully cured.
The durability of your new nail will depend on individual circumstances and can last two months plus. Like our own nails they are susceptible to damage from excessive pressure, stress and trauma. Sporting activities, repetitive stress, excessive sweating and frequency of swimming can affect the duration of the nail.

Maintenance
The reconstructed nail can be left to grow out with the natural nail and will require normal cutting and filing. Infills are needed as the nail grows out if a cosmetic look is wanted to disguise any discoloured nail. This is recommended to be done when needed or roughly 6-8 weeks depending on the growth rate of the nail
